1. terrific. just so funny. i wish Mark Durkan wouls spend as much energy into providing desperately needed leadership for nationalists and democrats as he does dreaming up these witty, vote winning lines.

2. Not to be pedantic, but . . . yer ancient Huns *loved* their horses, as you might expect from a nomadic warrior caste. And would have no more have harmed one than we’d, for example, casually dash a baby’s brains out on a hard floor.

5. Yes Durkan is right the DUP have a veto in the Assembly for the first time and its tied down in the Leglislation,there will be wailing and knashing of teeth in the Republician heartlands.

   And there you have it.  Durkan should have to apologize to the horse-loving, empire looting horsie set.

   On the other hand, Karl, the Huns were known to be awful casual about other peoples’ property.  I don’t care how much Huns loved horses, I wouldn’t want Attila looking after *my* horse.

   I think the point he was making wasn’t that the DUP would harm the veto but would use it to ride roughshod over the rights and aspirations of the pro-powersharing majority.

   But I think he’s trying to shut the stable d’Hont after the rejectionist horse has bolted.

11. Another one:

    Durkan, Jeffrey and Ian Beag were in a warm departure lounge, somewhere in Africa, whilst on some trade mission or suchlike. Conditions weren’t being helped much by a malfunctioning fan. Ian Beag decided to fiddle with it in an attempt to improve its performance whereupon part of the fan fell off striking him.

    “First time I’ve ever seen the fan hit the sh1t”, quipped Durkan.

    It is still very funny true or not and as for the DUP Veto thing of course they will ride roughshod over everyone else it is the only thing they are able to do. 

    Constructive dialogue with *any* opposition and the DUP are all at sea !!
