“not investigating a sectarian or terrorist motive..”

Here’s a story to note. Although, perhaps, as much for for the official pronouncement as the event itself.. A viable and unstable device found at the Royal Mail’s sorting office in Mallusk, County Antrim, has been defused by British Army technical officers.. But, according to the BBC report

Police have said they are not investigating a sectarian or terrorist motive in connection with the attack.

  2. When I glanced at this and saw that “a viable but unstable device” had been discovered in Antrim I first thought, “Oh no, not Ian Jr again?”.

But then I quickly realised that it couldn’t be about him since he simply isn’t viable anymore.

  3. Um, isn’t Royal Mail at Mallusk the UK-wide sorting centre for “dead letters”, i.e. stuff with incorrect addresses, stuff that has “return to sender” written on it but no returnee address on the back, etc.? If I’m right there’s every chance the package was neither made in nor destined for anywhere in NI…
