It’s not hard to dispute Belfast’s scientific prowess…
FROM humble beginnings in the Royal Victoria Hospital’s erectile dysfunction clinics, Prof Wallace Dinsmore has certainly gone up in the world. The Belfast doc who helped bring Viagra to the world is now working on a new treatment for not being able to get it up - a ‘spray and stay’ anaesthetic. Viagra has obviously had an enormous impact helping men around the world overcome sexual problems, but it’s just one medical breakthrough that has emanated from ‘here’ that’s had a global impact. The portable defibrillator is one such discovery, though I’m sure you can name more.

I know I discovered one hidden in my wifes shoe box, she says it’s not hers and mabe one of the workmen dropped it.
What’s really baffling is that we live in a new appartment that doesn’t need any work done, so why are they here and how many are there and i also don’t see why they can’t use normal screwdrivers

It is just that I am very overworked at present and I suddenly found the mental image of certain of Slugger’s less enlightened commenters doggedly clicking through link after link in a vain search for the “Confessions of Belfast Gonzo” unaccountably hilarious.
