Iris looking to ‘turn around’ gays

It was rather fitting that, in the week Brian Feeney labelled the Robinson-led DUP as the ‘Nasty Party,’ First Lady Iris lays out her views on turning around homosexuals. Iris had called for the portrayal of gay people to be banned from TV only a week earlier- when she also complained about not being able to use the term ‘coloureds.’ Ahh, for the good ol’ days Iris, eh???

  2. Quote Iris:

“he tries to help homosexuals - trying to turn away from what they are engaged in…
I’m happy to put any homosexual in touch with this gentleman

It could be lifted straight from a Finnbar Saunders strip.

  3. Where is a gay politician offering to put Christians in touch with a psychiatrist when you need one?

  6. Repost from another thread:

Iris Robinson may be able to turn a few DUP heads as she waltzes by but I doubt her ability to turn gays. What an attitude in these days - these people (gays) are sick and need to be treated. Geez.

  9. Why are posts being removed?

I hope this is just a glitch in the system, because if it is the case that we have to read hateful shite from fundamentalist christians without a proper right to respond, then this place is in serious trouble.

  10. this is appalling, further evidence that dup are not fit to govern...that and a a counterpoint the supidly purile craigavaon borough who will not sit down for a photo suggests attitudes of the dark ages.

it makes any modern 21st century person shake their head… and these people have the audacity to think they are fit for purpose…

come on gay pride start inviting FM Robinson to events every week and if he keep refusing take him to tribuniral....that’ll give iris something to think about silly fool that she is ... old tony banks was right any bladder on a stick can get elected if the constituency is right… makes you double take ards.....

  11. Silly.

You don’t get into government by being fit to govern, you get in by being elected.
Which proves people tend to get the government they deserve, if nothing else.

  12. I fail to see which parts of my post were in breach of commenting policy.
Is it too much to ask for an explanation?
In a story which sees lunatic fundamentalist claiming they can cure homosexuality, surely it’s fair game to offer up and equally ludicrous solution for curing crazy fundamentalism?

Fuck this for a game of soldiers, I’m so tired of the hatefilled religious bastards getting special treatment and being protected against a measure of the hate they propogate against other people.

  13. If Iris is so sure of her ground let her introduce a private members bill in westminster you could sell tickets for the strangers gallery when that one comes up.

  14. picking up TAFKABO ...my sign which was not “silly” has been adulterated.... thanks ya bass ....what is so offensive about hoor?????

and more offensive why censor the name alone you fool...? why not the sentiment and remove my ability to venture any comment?

this site is somewhat pc......and indicative of the culture in this sad little hole of a provincial backwater.

  15. I have to agree with TAFKABO that his remark was not out of line with the commenting policy.

  16. I was trapped in my car going to a meeting...heard or rather, couldn’t force myself to turn over - it was almost morbid fascination - the whole thing.

Frankly, it was shameful.  I am glad I’m not a supporter of the DUP.  It was just awful to hear.  She let that fat fool lead her up the garden path - and for once, I’m glad he was there to highlight the hypocrisy of her position as Christian and MLA

  17. And Chris Donnelly is a member of the ‘nice party’ Sinn Fein PIRA. The one that murdered and tortured people they disagreed with.

  18. Irony of ironies, it seems this thread is being censored according to judaeo christian sensibilities.
Those of us who do not conform to judaeo christian morality and modes of speech are being censored in a thread about judaeo christian homophobia and implicit racism.

You really couldn’t make it up.

  20. What a phobe.
I’ve worked with more “Christians” than I care to think about over the years and i have to say in my experience they are the biggest pack of bigots!
Catriona Ruane you have my vote.

  23. It was a bloody laugh from start to finish, I roared at the oul girl.  (Lets face it ya have to be thick, when Nolan can smack your arse in a debate.)

    Cheered me up all day!

  24. Lmao Garibaldy
I never vote for any of them.  My personal view is they’re only in it to line their own pockets.  Wonder what Ian Juniors up to now?
Anyway I’m sure Iris has come across a few guy people spending her office allowance.

  25. I posted this on a worldwide forum, and the responses are indicitave that NI is a laughing stock. As a (sort of) unionist, I am truly shamed by Iris Robinsons remarks. As I was by Edwin Poots.
These people are an embarrasment to all of us.
But I guess the idea of a secular unionist party wouldn’t work. Direct Rule anyone?
