DUP denies Paisley retirement plan
Last night Mick noted Frank Millar’s front page report in the Irish Times [no subs req], and today the DUP appear to have issued a response.
Reports this morning say the 81-year-old plans to relinquish his Westminster job, but remain on as First Minister in the North. A DUP spokesman, however, has dismissed it as “unfounded press speculation”.
Time will tell whether the speculation is unfounded or not.. and whether the novelty value lasts..

Posted by on Jan 17, 2008 @ 03:12 PMHopefully there will be a bit of clarity here as to the big mans future intentions in relation tp the North Antrim westminister seat.
But rumours have it that he intends to carry on in North Antrim, running in the next westminister election.
I think he may answer questions about this subject like this,
I’m still standing
You could never know what it’s like
when your in politics you pay a heavy price ice
and you have to double job, ah sure the pay is good
You have to be shrewd or,
You’ll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you useAnd I always top the poll and always win
Well look at me, I’m coming back again
I got the taste for North Antrim in a simple way
And if you need to know while I’m still standing, others just fade awayDon’t you know I’m still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, I couldn’t rely on my little kid
I’m still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of his lie’s with his fly moves on my mindI’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeahOnce again I know I’ll win, I’ll be,
Sending Jimmy Allister down the road. He’ll not leave me again
The threats he made were meant to cut me down
And if Ulster was just a circus he’d be a clown by nowPosted by on Jan 17, 2008 @ 03:57 PMLets hope the rumours aren’t true.

Posted by on Jan 17, 2008 @ 05:47 PMThe DUP are in a healthy position with regards to their mandate, so surely the big fella would be wise to call it a day.
I have never been a fan of Paisley, however his record as a Parliamentarian, his longevity and his skills as an orator will never be forgotten.

It appears there are now more hands on the battering ram!
Poor Mr Paisley:
(1) If he knew what his son was up to and kept quiet about it, he is finished.
(2) If he didnt know what his son was up to, he should have known, he is finished.
Its the DUP versus everyone else (except Alliance who havent figured it out yet)
Regarding Junior, can anyone predict the wording the DUP will use when they sacrifice him? Maybe Junior will join the Alliance party!

I havent got the necessary hardware to get any thing onto youtube, but I sing along any way.
Posted by on Jan 17, 2008 @ 09:08 PMcut the bull,
Hey its easy; use windows movie-maker; where you can cut’n’paste video clips, music clips, superimpose this that and the other and you’re away.
No hardware needed, ok maybe a microphone; very cheap. Then upload the files to youtube.
webcam even easier :)Posted by on Jan 17, 2008 @ 09:17 PMthanks for the tips I think I shall be starting to youtube shortly.

Posted by on Jan 17, 2008 @ 10:12 PMPossible tactic if EU and Westminster elections in 2009 on same date to put Jim allister under pressure on whih battle to fight ?
Posted by on Jan 17, 2008 @ 10:44 PMI have always waited in anticipation during the elections on Jim Allister being interviewed.
I waited and waited on a reporeter asking Jim questions such as “Well Jim do you believe you and your party(then the DUP) did your best to fight or hold back in what proved to be a stiffly fought and at times a hard election all round”
Try to imagine Jim Allister answering this, use your imagination.
