Does Simms’ treatment point way to vCJD cure..?

JONATHAN Simms from Northern Ireland is the longest survivor of killer disease vCJD. Real Story on BBC1 tonight follows his breakthrough treatment, which is still not easily available to others.

  2. Another BBC report linked at the Real Story page is worth noting -

    It is not a wonder drug but a therapy that might buy patients more time.

    and

    In both the cases of Holly Mills and Jonathan Simms, PPS seems to have slowed the progress of the disease.

    But without thorough research it is not clear whether this is the normal course of vCJD, about which so little is known, or some effect of the drug.

  6. Seems to me that it would be pretty easy to find a medicine that would stop the progression of those diseases. But the pharma industry doesn’t care because it’s not profitable.
