Ballymurphy feud racked up policing costs of £1 million…

The Andersonstown News has some facts and figures on the long running feud that has seen a single family systematically targeted in hundreds of minor attacks, including a bizarre attack on an already fire-damaged house. The killing of Gerald Devlin heralded a witchhunt against the wider family of his alleged killers. This a local crisis has been ongoing for nearly 18 months, has barely registered in the wider media, despite the intervention of at least on English MP to resolve the problem.

  1. Why don’t they away and ask Gordon Brown for a few million to stop the fighting?

  2. Now that Sinn Fein are on the policing board they could save the R.U.C/P.S.N.I money by not attacking the Natarantonio family homes with petrol bombs.

  4. Why not face up to the fact that this feud is the result of the killing of Francisco Notarantonio instead of ‘Steakknife’ when Captain Simon Hayward’s appeal of his set-up for drug-trafficking in Stockholm was on appeal in October 1987 - what went completely out of control in 2003 when Freddie Scappaticci was outed for being the same?

When Gerard Devlin contested the claim, stating that Francisco was, in fact, ‘Steakknife’, a deadly feud resulted which claimed his life instead.

In sum, this is about as much a local quarrel as the outing of Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister.  Are you posters ever going to get on the proper frequencies to figure out what is going on?

Given my experience, I seriously doubt it.

What is Gerry Adams MP for west Belfast doing, is this not his constituency?

  6. just listen to your selves you say fued this and fued that the murder of francisco notarantonio stake knife drugs what realy is this all about well let me tell u the family dispute between the devlins and the notarantonios was for neither or those reasons it was about the respect that the hardest man in the murph wanted and never gained when two youths spoke up to him and answered him bk if he had corrected his own two boys as he did the two notarantonio boys none of this would be happening so this all started over people stading up to a bully
