  1. So he was a Fenian after all!

  2. ....and from the Garvaghy road area. Poor child didn’t have a chance growing up among IRA/Sinn Fein sectarian protests.

  3. .........against triumphalist bigoted Orange Order marches. And hey the people won, no need to burn down their gang huts at all, let them wither on the vine!

  4. Despite the above spin, SF could not give a monkey’s about the inhabitants of the Garvaghy Road and their peace of mind, if this was the price they had to pay to assume office. The objections to the annual siege come from the inhabitants themselves, not any politcal movement in Belfast.

  5. so it wasn;t a loyalist conspiracy after all.  How disapointing…

  6. Probably a stupid question but.....

I have known a Breen or two and they have been Church of Ireland Prods. I take it that where this gentleman lives is a Republican part of Portadown?Or am I just confused?

  7. Ballyoran Park runs into the Garvaghy Road, I believe. Other residents include SF and SDLP councillors.

  8. That might explain it!

    Many thanks.

  9. ...Gareth also not a typical fenian name…

    Posted by  on Feb 18, 2008 @ 06:06 PM
  10. I reckon that he is a Welsh church of Ireland Prod who just happens to be staying at a B&B;in Ballyoran Park.

Gareth Dewi Breen, Aye that would explain it all. I mean who would ever think that a Taig would ever want to burn down an Orange Order gang hut, the very thought! I mean what have they ever done to us?

  11. I expect that it was actually a visiting Welshman who got drunk and, having posted a lot of U2 videos on the net, sallied forth in search of sheep and attempted to burn down the Orange Hall in the mistaken belief that it was an English owned second home in Wales. After all, just about all the Gareths I have known did something like that.

  12. Right that’s case closed for me Paddy.

Let’s blame it on the Welsh!

  13. What’cha mean ? As loyal as you can get! Unbelievable.

  14. Clearly, for the pan-Celtic comedians above, denial really ain’t just a river in Egypt…

  19. c’mon guys it was a bad thing to do; it does nothing for improving relations, and someone could have been accidently badly burned.

  20. Someone could have been accidently badly burned

Gareth, mainly. He would be what you call a kamikaze.

  21. Growing up beside Drumcree has obviously had a detrimental effect on this lad, growing up as a kid with so much hatred in the air is it any wonder he ended up committing a hate crime? Drumcrees legacy lives on!

  22. Looking forward to the full retractions from the sectarian republican apologists for their confident assertions this was an ‘inside job’ proving all such arson attacks were actually by loyalists.
