Are political journalists too timid?

Prominent, and controversial, blogger Guido Fawkes ventures onto the BBC’s Newsnight patch tonight - there’s a short online report here [RealPlayer video] - to blame an overly cozy relationship between political journalists and their party-political sources for the timid coverage politics gets in the wider media - a viewpoint that Jeremy Paxman describes as a “pathetic conspiracy world”.

  5. The historic meeting this week between Ian Paisley and Gerry Adams in Belfast, was a slap in the face to all the doomsayers, professional skeptics, perpetual pessimists and people who believe that what was is what will always be.

  7. Thanks for fixing it Pete.I never have that problem on any other site. I’ve had trouble with Preview on here before so I didn’t preview it first to see what it might turn out like.

Anyway, I think I’ll go and read some of the sites listed on your sidebar starting with http://desolaterow.blogspot.com then http://www.the-broom.net I might even visit http://www.nimagyar.blogspot.com

As I’m in a complaining mood I always wonder about the tagline here on Slugger “Notes On Northern Ireland Politics and Culture” wouldn’t it read better as ‘Notes on Northern Irish Politics and Culture’? Is there a , a : or ; missing there somewhere?

Oh, just to finish does the Poll “Will the DUP and Sinn Féin agree to share power by 26th March?” refer to this year or next year?
    ;-)

  8. Almost felt sorry for poor Guido last night he was ripped to shreds by a well heeled hack.  It was painful to watch and I bet the bold Guido hasn’t got the link on his blogspot today.  Any chance of putting it on here Pete?
