“a direct challenge to the authority of the Chair”

Mick flagged this up yesterday and, better late than never, here’s the video of the NI Assembly Speaker William Hay ruling on recent “direct challenge[s] to the authority of the Chair”.  Worth noting the Northern Ireland Environment Minister, the DUP’s Sammy Wison, MP, MLA, sotto voce response - “That’s a scandalous decision..” - which didn’t make it into Hansard, but is audible on this recording.  [He wouldn’t try that on in another place - Ed] Indeed.  Below the fold is the video record of Deputy Speaker David McClarty facing those direct challenges to the authority of the Chair from the DUP’s Edwin Poots and William McCrea, and Sinn Féin’s Paul Maskey, as shown on Stormont Live.
