GaelscĂ©al : “Unionist Forum ends attempts to attract Catholics to the Union cause”
Cuireann an FĂłram Aontachtach deireadh le hiarrachtaĂ Caitlicigh a mhealladh chuig cĂșis an aontaisÂ
AnailĂs le hAnton Mac CĂĄba
BhĂ an cĂ©ad cruinniĂș den bhFĂłram Aontachtach ar siĂșl DĂ©ardaoin seo caite.
Cuireann sin deireadh, faoi låthair, leis an gcaint a rinne Peter Robinson ag comhdhåil an DUP go raibh sé i bhfabhar Caitlicigh a mhealladh isteach san Fhóram.
Is lĂ©ir go bhfuil an FĂłram ann le smacht a fhĂĄil ar na hagĂłidĂ srĂĄide. TĂĄ an PĂĄirt Aontachtach ForĂĄsach (PUP) â eite polaitiĂșil an UVF â istigh ann agus tĂĄ faicsean den UVF ciontach as na cĂrĂ©ibeacha.
Ina ainneoin sin, tĂĄ na cĂrĂ©ibeacha ag leanĂșint leo i mBĂ©al Feirste agus nĂl aon smacht ag na polaiteoirĂ Aontachtacha ar an dream ata na srĂĄideanna.
NĂl an Ulster Peopleâs Forum mar chuid den FĂłram Aontachtach. Deir seo go ndĂ©anann siad ionadaĂocht ar na lĂ©irsitheoirĂ ar na srĂĄideanna â cĂ© nach soilĂ©ir cĂ© chomh hionadaĂoch agus atĂĄ orthu sin fiĂș.
Is Ă© Willie Frazer an duine is aitheanta san Ulster Peopleâs Forum. AithnĂtear Frazer mar fhigiĂșr imeallach, a fuair vĂłta suarach nuair a sheas sĂ© ina cheantar dĂșchas do Westminster agus don TionĂłl.
Ar an suĂomh idirlĂn atĂĄ aige, deir sĂ©: âThe Ulster Peoples Forum was created in late 2012 against the back draft of a continued and relentless attack on our community. he (sic) initial aim is to unite all groups within the PUL community.â
Ar ndĂłigh, is cĂ©im eile Ă© an FĂłram Aontachtach i dtreo deireadh a chur le PĂĄirtĂ Aontachtach Uladh (UUP). Bâiad an DUP, ag gach cĂ©im, a leag amach an clĂĄr oibre.
NĂ haon rud simplĂ Ă© seo. Tugann cuid mhĂłr ProtastĂșnach tacaĂocht do chomhoibriĂș, mar a dĂșirt ball sinsearach den UUP, a thugann tacaĂocht don FĂłram.
Dar leisean, nĂĄr cheart go mbeadh aon pĂĄirtĂ aontachtach amhĂĄin ann. âTĂĄ spĂĄs ann do phĂĄirtĂ Aontachtach, nach Ă© an DUP Ă©, a sheasann don rud atĂĄ ceart (Ăł thaobh na morĂĄltachta de, agus nĂ na polaitĂochta amhĂĄin) ⊠Bheadh a leithĂ©idĂ de cur chuige ĂĄbalta, nĂ amhĂĄin an tAontas a dhaingniĂș, ach cuid mhĂłr Caitliceach a mhealladh.â
Is lĂ©ir uaidh go bhfuil difear sa chur chuige atĂĄ ag Aontachtaithe difriĂșla. TĂĄ sĂșil ag an bhfear  UUP sinsearach go mbeidh an FĂłram Aontachtach ĂĄbalta deireadh a chur leis na cĂrĂ©ibeacha, âach nĂor cheart go ndĂ©anfaĂ Ă© trĂ pharaimĂleatachas / sceimhlitheoireacht a shĂĄsamh.â
NĂl aon iomrĂĄ ar an bhFĂłram a bheith ĂĄbalta dul i dteangmhĂĄil leis na cĂrĂ©ibeoirĂ. DĂșirt Alex Kane, iarStiĂșrthĂłir CumarsĂĄide an UUP, gur thĂĄinig laghdĂș 72,789 ar lĂon na vĂłta Aontachtach idir 1969 agus 2011: âCĂ© ⊠a dhĂ©anann ionadaĂocht ar an lĂon sĂșntasach daoine sin â atĂĄ ag fĂĄs â Ăłn bpobal Aontachtach nach bhfuil baint ar bith acu leis an Aontachas polaitiĂșil?â

AistriĂș?
If I understood Irish I could read your opinion ( despite years beng taught it in school) and respond.
in the context of Ni where everyone understands English,it is difficult to thnk that you are using Irish innocently by which I mean neutrally.
Shake off your slave mentality, girl
Granni
If you install chrome, it’s automatic translations will do a fair approximation for you.
I don’t think however, it would be able to do anything regarding your other problem, they can do self driving cars, augmented reality specs and great phone operating systems, but some issues you just have to work out yourself.
If the project is a United Ireland, then surely the mission is to assure unionists they will have an honoured place in same, not just a token presence. Gerry Adams proclaims that is his aim but he and his party are all about depriving unionism of its place at every opportunity.
Granni
just because you were too lazy to learn the language at school doesn’t mean others took a similar approach to their ‘theanga dhuchĂĄis’.
And, as you say, “in the context of Ni where everyone understands English” [sic], I take it Anna Lo too speaks only in English at the local Chinese community centre?

I found Maths even more difficult hence I was moved to biology. speaks for itself?
Your cheap gibe is so ill informed. As a former English teacher I would not start off making such assumptions about an individual.
As a matter of fact When I have been in the Chinese centre the only people speaking Chinese seemed to be those who had difficulties with English.

Thanks for that info though ill seek help with doing so as I’m technically challenged also!
When in a hole, keep digging Granni.
I take it that you’re also deeply suspicious of the motives behind Wah Yan Jee Sing on Radio Ulster? Hardly “innocent” or “neutral” when, according to you, the mast majority of Chinese immigrants in NI have a good command of English.
It’s good to know that sainted Alliance members can, in fact, be as myopic and insular as the rest of us mere mortals.
Lay aff, boys.
Have Mr Adams and the politburo done any serious planning for a UI?
If a UI project is dirven forward by the creative energy of NI’s present unionists, it will have a good chance of success. Otherwise it’ll be as boring and intellectually vacuous as a speech by Mr Adams.
For the record,I am very interested in Irish culture. I do think however that in the interests of inclusivity in the context of a debating forum such as Slugger someone posting in Irish ought to include a translation.
I merely repeat my stock answer.
We publish pieces from GaelscĂ©al on Slugger, relating to Northern issues, at the invitation of the sites’ owner and editor, Mick Fealty.
We have offered translations when we have the time, we didn’t in this instance.
seem’s a silly idea, i mean if the attracted catholic’s don’t speak Irish how will they get the message…
Ciaron
fair enough. Didn’t mean to be disrespectful.
Is mĂłr an trua nach dtig leat an t-ainm a litriĂș a scrĂobh i gceart.
