“Let’s just start building in a business-like, decent-minded way.”

Wed 19 December 2012, 5:09pm

Jude Collins with what looks like good advice to me… If we all wanted to be friends, we might all consider joining the same political party…

Or you might say, a little more extremism, less fanaticism?

We already live in a one party state as can be seen by the lack of an opposition in Stormont, most people just don’t get that. As for a ‘lets all join the one Party’ suggestion? Germany of the 1930′s springs to mind!

Certainly let us build. But let us work out exactly what kind of country it is that we want to build. The architect whom we employ should be a leader who knows where he wants to go. It will take his clear direction to turn our little clouds of goodwill into useful bricks.

aye, lets just start by confirming that SF/sdlp are prepared to recognise the country they are supposed to be working to improve….

    iluvni,

‘Country’ is a nebulous term. When did ‘province’ fall out of fashion?

    Do unionists recognize it ?

Here is a serious question. Why does Basil McCrea feel that his unionism is not diminished by designated days, whereas other unionists feel that it is ?

You are a quick learner. Can you do us a favour and pass it on to your fellow Unionists, thanks.

It’s just a silly term is all.

Presumably, if NI is your country, then you would not characterise the folks on the island next door as your countrymen?

Two or three boys were trying to talk about building when a few other boys came along and started up what a passing German tourist described as a Pinkelkontest.

Bless you for a more urbane response than I deserved, SK. I wonder if people’s loyalties will diminish once they realize that they are being loyal to a transit camp.

I’m not so sure. I think a basic premise of ‘business’ is that you have to want to buy what the other party is selling. It’s hard to enjoy shopping when, in your heart, all you want to do is burn down the store.

    Superb, smeeho07!

It will be the job of a new unionist leader to demonstrate that there is more to life than Carson and arson.
