#BigFatFootball Hangout: All Ireland Final Day

Sun 23 September 2012, 12:36pm

So, how’s this going to go? Answer: I’ve no idea… I’ve done quite a few hangouts now, with #DigitalLunch and #MainStreetMatters, but never for a live sports event…

I’m going start up the hangout at about 2.30pm and send an invite to all who’ve said they coming or maybe coming… If you’re busy don’t feel obliged to respond… You can come and go for as long or short as you like…

It’s going to be broadcast to YouTube (I’ll post the url just beforehand so you can get the live link from this event page and tweet etc)…

I think we’ll probably start with intros, a declaration of loyalities, and maybe something on why GAA matters to us, and if we feel up to it some punditry…

When the match starts I don’t expect a lot of conversation but it would be great if people could share photos and videos of the points and goals as they happen and then share them to this event page…

We can’t show any of the match on the hangout because Google’s algorythm will pick any attempts to use this channel to broadcast live material (and I’ll get my account suspended)…

But there’s not with screen shares and short videos of highlights after the fact, as I understand it..

Bring beers, crisps (Tayto if you’re at home) to wave at your web at the appropriate moments… above all, have a great day…

I’m backing my father’s county (as I have every year since my first Ulster Final at the age of six in 1966) #Donegal… But I can’t think of another county I’d resent less losing to that Mayo…

Please do feel free to share this page and the invitation over on G+ (ping me at gplus.to/mickfealty) but also on Facebook and Twitter…

Indeed you can share your favourite stuff, just by using the hashtag #BFFHO on Twitter so we can pick up your comments, videos and screengrabs and share it live..

Great to see an Ulster Connacht Final, A rivalry that goes back to the iron age. I’m shouting for Dun na nGall but it would be nice to see Maigh Eo win too.

Yes, good to see the cup back in Ulster after a short 4 year absence. Even if it is the wrong side of the River Finn ;-)
