The Media Relations Department of Hizbollah Wishes You a Happy Birthday (Neil MacFarquhar)
With perhaps the longest title of any book I’ve read this year, The Media Relations Department of Hizbollah Wishes You a Happy Birthday: Unexpected Encounters in the Changing Middle East gives an insight into the lives of people living in Middle East through the eyes of journalist Neil MacFarquhar. MacFarquhar’s father was a chemical engineer [...] read our review »

Ulsters Last Stand?: Can Unionism Move Beyond Insurance Policy Politics?
How has Ulster unionism arrived at where it is today – fractured and uncertain, yet dominated electorally by the DUP, a party that tells us it offers unionists sure footing in uncertain times? In his latest book, Ulster’s Last Stand? Reconstructing Unionism after the Peace Process (Irish Academic Press, 2010), Prof. James McAuley from the [...] read our review »

I can’t help but feeling a little disappointed. The thread’s title suggested posters a plenty, and while this picture has a plural number, it just wasn’t what the title lead me to expect.
B the B
It was a typo.
Should read “Election imposters Dublin”.
It’s early days yet Barry. This Flickr group just has two members, but it should have some good election pics before the end of play…
Its a shame, they work hard all night, putting the posters up and even fighting over who gets the best spot, and then some wag comes along with a can of paint and says it all in one word.
But why is the graffito singular?

Maybe RAT for Rabbitte An Tánaiste will start appearing all over Ireland, just like VERDI during the Risorgimento.
Willie O’Dea “But, are you sure?”
Typesetter “Certain. We cannot make the font any smaller for the Fianna Fail party name on the Posters.”
An insult to rodents, surely.

I have seen a very funny make over of Michael Martin when passing through Limerick two days ago, somebody had given him shriek green horns, very tastefully done.
I also see a make over on Power in the same area, he got the Hitler treatment and I must say that at a glance he could pass. Incidently the while Powers A2 posters are everywhere, the FF logo is just matchbox size and placed in the lower left corner !
I had a cup of tea in passing where I was visiting last week to find out how the FF canvass went locally : it seems all he did was annoy the locals for his neck in appearing.
