“Although I had been reliably informed that the Prime Minister was on his way to Belfast..”
As Mick noted, they’re still in play… apparently. Here’s a short clip from the DUP press conference at Stormont this evening followed by a positive interpretation from commentator Jim Dougal in the UTV studio.

Was the Gregory hiding behind Robinson’s head? And where is Jeffery Donaldson? Hiding under Arlene’s skirt?
Watch the DUP statement on UTV and pay attention to the body language of Nigel Dodds and Sammy; note how the Gregory hides out of shot.
Still no ‘product’. ho hum, what a surprise.
Just watched Connor on channel 4 saying that a deal is within reach ‘if the political will is there’. What a genius.
Eye rolling (aka Dodds) is one of the nonverbal signs that is pretty much always aggressive; a sign that somebody strongly disagrees with what is being said…
Will the DUP proceed with a deal without the unanimous support of the Assembly party?
Is’nt Arlene still the leader till the 6 weeks are up or is that now passe? Even Paisley is being dragged out of his retirement as a prop. This sounds like chapter 745 in the never ending story
jim allister must be texting madly be now to the 12 apostles
“You got a friend in me” .. modelled on that michael jackson tune
“Ben”.. the two of us need look no more.
Scaramoosh [5] The deputy dawds looks positively rabid these days. This will run and run, [until nigel takes over in a coup d’etat.
Sullen lot.
The governments should publish their plans if the DUP do not want to a deal and a voluntary coalition of those who do accept it should be established. In such a scenario the UUP could re-establish themselves as the largest Unionist party with the anti-agreement vote split 2 ways.
If the DUP say No, Reginald should be ready to say Yes.
I dont believe Dodds wants to lead the DUP or become First Minister.
I think Gregory was out of shot because of the camera angle – he is probably up front and centre on BBC!
Stephen Nolan twittering @doesn’t sound like something robinson would do, secret ballot held’? Theres nothing on Eamonn’s about it? Anyone else know if this is true, if it is the DuPes must be really badly divided.
More of the same old Robinson waffle which/who the community have no confidence in. There is the problem, and I thought Arlene was supposed to be running/heading the show for a while, while Peter took loving care of delicate matters at home. Was that all waffle too, to give the DUP some wriggling room and to try to deflect attention away from their party inadequacies.
And why still all the secrecy, which only has everyone thinking they’re trying to hide things in dark and dank cupboards, which will only spill out later, rank and rancid. When are the boys and girls going to grow up and enter into the real world which has no secrets to hide crimes and dodgy affairs.
Sheesh Robbo looks older than I look……well actually he is older than me…..but he looks awful.
FJH, it has been a difficult year for the scourge of Clontibret.
Really…I hadnt heard
Isn’t it interesting how the loudest (apparently) dissenting voices in the DUP are those who have Westminster salaries to rely on when the assembly falls.

“the scourge of Clontibret”
He he heh
Fitzjameshorse, Robinson does look bad – He has lost a ton of weight and is white as a sheet…Paisley looks better but seriously I think Robinson does not look well, he must be under huge stress – he should, for his own health take some time off…
NornIroner,
He definitely should consider it. Stress can kill.
The Dup lost Apostles may arrange for Peter to have some time off.
They are sensitive to the good of others.
I think Peter needs some time alone on top of a mountain somewhere. Poor bastard must be under some kind of pressure I don’t think I’ve ever felt.
