I mentioned on Thursday the 40th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11. Four days later, on 20th July 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the Moon. As the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter discovered the evidence is still there. Nasa has a dedicated website marking the mission. Just think, if the US (and indeed everyone) hadn’t had to bailout the banks we could have had time machines, robotic dolphins and all sorts of crazy stuff.
