From last night’s Hearts and Minds, Julia Paul reports on the lost art of “The Troubles”. Apparently the NI Arts Council is launching an online Troubles Archive, and there’s currently a temporary physical exhibition at the Ormeau Baths Gallery, but it seems that the Wolverhampton Art Gallery has the best collection of such material..

    Good to see those mawkish murals to murder removed from gable walls and replaced with more ‘cultural’ themed ones.

    Gas too, as the report says, that those mawkish murals to murder on gable walls were accepted by the establishment and society yet more serious art that commented and reflected on “The Troubles” were somewhat overlooked, (aka censored…..keeping the people stupid and set in their ways.)
