‘Over but not out’ – NI Tories go offline
Tory Vice-Chair calls it a day for the NI Tory website.
This message appeared on the site today:
“I’d like to thank all of you have been so involved in the Conservatives in Northern Ireland web site and blog over the last few years. But it’s now the end of the line. Soon, our team in CCHQ will be rolling out a new Northern Ireland web presence – taking the burden off my shoulders.
I will be suspending this site shortly. In the meantime please visit our main Party web site.
It has been fun – many thanks for your comments and support over the last 3 years.

“Is Tory HQ sticking their nails in after recent negative publicity?”
Yes and its flipping hilarious!
Awww, Im sure the DUP will miss the material it provided for them
And he would have gotten away with it if it hadn’t been for those pesky Orangemen!
This is appalling behaviour by HQ
You have to laugh at the DUP’s limpet like insistence on referring only to Tories and the Tory Party. It’s straight out of the primary schoolyard.
Chekov
Poor attempt at a side-step.
Interesting to note that he took down his snattery attack piece directed at Weir before pulling the plug.
Awww, Im sure the DUP will miss the material it provided for them
Indeed, now what are they going to go running with to any bored journalist that will listen?
Real politics…? As if. Maybe they could set up their own fake blog as a ‘peeved off UU member with the Tories’. Oh yea, they already have.
But really though, the DUP have sent out more press releases about the Ulster Unionist/Conservative link up than the UUP and Tories have combined! That says it all really.
Indeed it does. It says that the project is a gift for them!

Unionist community deserves a positive campaign
Are you happy to deliver on Mrs Dodd’s pledge?
O’Neill
The only thing I can deliver is half-assed analysis here!

I suspect you’re (probably;)) capable of a lot more, but if that’s what you want to limit yourself to, then you’ll never lonely in the comments zone of Slugger!
The Labour NI site is not over – still going stong.
Labour Party NI
I wonder if sylvia has been approached by the NI Labour party
As I commented yesterday, the real tories were watching Mr. Peel very closely, now watch him fade from the scene completely.
The DUP are obviously concerned about the possibility that the ‘UCU may the Force be with you’ could start attracting Alliance voters, Union supporting Catholics and those who have had enough of the ‘only green or orange’ school of politics.
Who knows, we may even find ourselves with Ministers in Stormont who actually have a clue.
We can only hope eh?
Agree that Sylvia Hermon should stand as a Labour MP next time.

First Blog War
In the first leg of the Perpetual Who is the Most Unionist competition the result is
DUP 1 Tories & UUP 0
and all it took was one press release from Peter Weir!
