Financial Regulator refers ‘certain [Anglo Irish] matters’ to gardai

In addition to the searches of the Anglo Irish Bank’s Dublin headquarters, as part of the investigation by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement, RTÉ reports that a spokesman [for the Irish Financial Regulator] has “said the regulator had concluded that ‘certain matters’ were of such a serious nature that it was appropriate to refer them to gardaí.” Which ‘certain matters’, in particular, isn’t entirely clear.. But the iol report says, “It is understood that gardaí have been called in to investigate allegations of market abuse.” [And how long will that take? - Ed] Adds More details here.

    Anyone else amazed that Gillian Bowler is not criticised for not knowing what was going on in her company?
    €7 billion gets deposited and it has nothing to do with her as she knew nothing about it.
