Here’s a report from today’s Irish Times which touches on a couple of topics noted previously, the future of the Common Travel Area and who, exactly, sets such policy in the Republic of Ireland? That’s a public conversation which never really got off the ground last time.. From the Irish Times.

A spokeswoman said the department [of Justice] was aware of the change being considered by the British.

“In the event of the United Kingdom deciding to implement such a change, the question of whether or not Ireland will impose similar requirements will be given full consideration, particularly in light of the common travel area which operates between Ireland and the United Kingdom,” she added.
