In Belfast PSN Assistant Chief Constable Drew Harris has withdrawn from the ACPO drugs conference at the Europa Hotel to attend to a heightened security threat from dissenting republican paramilitaries.Btw, the use of the island, as a whole, as a gateway to Europe by drugs smugglers shouldn’t be a shock. Some might blame the CTA, and others point to the need for e-border controls, but Ireland’s isolated coasts have been identified as being “nearly impossible to patrol”.
