Trevor Reaney did, indeed, handle it really well - and with great good grace.

And I'd be interested to know if anyone has got to the bottom of this story. Is it that the commission itself is a 'jobsworth' outfit, or is it that they are forced to take ridiculous measures in response to ridiculous petty inter-party point-scoring? My understanding of some of the daft TV camera bans is down to someone complaining that one party got a slight advantage out of bringing a camera somewhere and that the only way to make sure that this Never Happens Again Ever was to demand a ban on all filming without permission in triplicate.

(All of this is hearsay, by the way - any more accurate version with citations would be very welcome). Trevor will be aware that - sometimes - people say things here that they can't be *seen* to say by posting them under pen names, though I'm sure that he wouldn't do this ;-)

I'm led to believe that Iain Dale was on Radio Ulster talking about blogs and Slugger. Anyone hear this?

With sites like Slugger the chances are after all is said and done, there is more said than done. But you have done a lot for the political sphere Mick. In a political environment which painfully creaks under old and grindingly slow sectarian politics, you, however have shared: new technology, new ideas, new chances to debate - and - a belief in politics as means to change outcomes. All of this against utterly hopeless odds.

Well done everyone indeed but more importantly well done yourself.

It was a great night - thanks for organising. Trevor Reaney may have to give his Jobsworth award back given the good humour he collected it with!
