Actually it’s not -it’s quite a relief . I can’t imagine anything more dreadful than kneeling/standing/floating up in a huge heavenly auditorium for eons on end singing Hallelujahs and watching angels floating by playing on their harps . After the first billion years it must get boring eh ? And having to meet all the ancestors and finding out that I and millions of others are related to William the Bastard , Brian Boru etc would not be my idea of a pleasant interlude never mind an eternal one.

All life is one . From the very beginning of the original twitch (the Big Birth )to the present variety of living organisms animal and plant we are all the fortunate and very lucky inheritors of a vast number of random events without which life would have remained as it did for half the earths history a single celled amoeba like blob or might never have emerged on this planet at all at all.

Enjoy the brief moment while you can . This life is not a dress rehearsal . Unless of course you’re in the religion business, and need to make a living by taking a lot of money from those who prefer ‘mythological ansers ‘ to scientific ones . Evolution btw has not ended with homo sapiens – It continues as it always has and will until all life is extingushed from this earth as no doubt it will be at some point in the distant future assuming that the lads at Cern don’t suck us all into a black hole . If you’re reading this it has’nt happened yet anyway .

Who is we?

Christians have faith in God. Faith is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen—–through Faith we (Christians) understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God,so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11 vv 1and3). Science will come in time to a full understanding of the great energy and power of God. We also know from the Old Testament —-(Psalm 19 vv1-3) The heavens declare the glory of God: and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech; and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.Christians also believe(2Peter ch3 v10) The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;in the which the heavens and earth shall pass away with a great noise,and the elements shall melt with fervrent heat,the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
We are understandably very concerned for those who like Stephen Hawking are without Faith and without a future beyond this earthly time–it must be an awful thing to have no hope of Eternity in God’s presence.
