Al-Qaeda suspect to be deported to Algeria

Wed 11 June 2008, 1:35am

According to a BBC report, the individual known as Abbas Boutrab is to be deported to Algeria within the next 24 hours . In December 2005 ‘Boutrab’ was sentenced to 6 years for possessing and collecting information “for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism”. And in January 2007 it was reported that he was being held under an immigration warrant since becoming eligible for release. There doesn’t seem to be any indication that his actual identity has been discovered since then.
