Why’s Comical Marty in the photo shoot? Isn’t this a job for Jeffrey and Gerry, the junior ministers, or ‘Crazy Cat’ Ruane?

  10. Seimi says:

“Potto and Hilda are a combination that work well together, and today we saw a very strong message of sharing that we would all do well to share,” said Mr McGuinness.

“We have an 82-year-old unionist and a 57-year-old republican agreeing to share power, and they have done so since May last year.

Am I the only one who’s slightly worried by one of the leaders of the Assembly taking direction from Muppets?

Surely more worrying is the assembly being headed by a pair of muppets, no?

  12. PeaceandJustice says:

Photo competition: Spot the real muppet.

On a general point, we shouldn’t be promoting the Butcher of the Bogside as some friendly character associated with children’s television. For those affected by the murder and torture carried out by the Londonderry Sinn Fein PIRA terrorists, how should they explain it to their children?

…. yes son, SF PIRA carried out mass murderer … the leaders murdered and bombed their way to power. Just like the bully in the playground … but a bit more serious.

What a great role model for a future generation.

  15. LURIG says:

Martin denies the rumour that debate and discussion are stifled within Republicanism and introduces two Sinn Fein activists who will investigate this slur. “No one pulls their strings” said McGuinness. “It’s time to put on make up, it’s time to get things right, it’s time to get things started, it’s time to face the music in the Shinner house tonight” said the Foyle MP.

NB. I know it’s Sesame Street, I know.

  16. PeaceandJustice says:

RepublicanStones – “there is no trolls in Sesame st.” That rules you out. But is Sesame Street Northern Ireland style introducing a new character ‘The Terrorist Butcher’ as one of the ‘good guys’?

Even with the photoshoot, they could have been more sensitive to the families of the victims. It’s hard enough for victims to bring up children on their own without having their homes violated with pictures of a leader of a group responsible for mass murder – Sinn Fein PIRA.

There is some substance in Lurig’s comment. Comical Marty is a resident of Foyle and we have this Londonderry City result: 1918–1922 Eoin MacNeill (Sinn Féin).
