Indeed the LVF has issued a threat against two journalists at the Sunday World. The LVF killed one of its journalists, Martin O’Hagan six years ago.

Re the threats against the journalists, this is probably an appropriate time to mention that today is “International Right to Know(pdf)” day, hoping to promote the free flow of information, the open society and what have you.

I take it that Martin O’Hagan was killed because he was a journalist??? Or.. was it because he was a member of the IRA who was caught and convited of Gun running??? can anyone clarify this or shall we just sweep it under the carpet a non responce will confirm you decision.

Martin I understand was murdered because he was exposing LVF drug dealers in the Lurgan/Portadown/Craigavon – as an aside I also ubderstand that they were Catholic drug dealers working for the LVF (and some allege one is the son of an SDLP councillor/ex-councillor)

While I have every sympathy with your attempt to reason with those who would excuse the murder of those with whom they disagree, let’s face it – he was murdered because he was one of themmuns and it really doesn’t matter whether themmuns are Catholic or Protestant, Unionist or Republican because killing themmuns is always wrong.
There are better ways to decide our future together. In fact it is those who refuse to recognise the primacy of politics who will lose in the long run.

What a crock of shit, typical MOPEary from a loyalist appologist, you really think they waited all this time just to get one gun runner? Hell in likelyhood Martin did what he did before long before the asshole who murdered him was an itch in his daddy’s crotch. Many people in this country have a past, from the First Minister down, are you saying they can’t rise above it and make up for their crimes, Nelson Mandella was once considered a criminal, does that negate all the good he did?
Tell you what get on the phone to Martin’s wife and kids and tell them that Martin was murdered because he was a convicted provie and not because he was about to expose some of your loyalist friends for the drug dealing parasites they are.
