That’s one for the grandchildren – one Canadian took a hat-trick in a match his team lost by an innings!!

Never heard of the ICC Intercontinental Cup before – Australia never had to defend this!

Wonder if ICC could work it so that the test cricket countries would be like Premier League in UK Soccer and ICC Intercontinental Cup be like First Division and the last couple of test countries get relegated while the top two of the ICCIC get to play test cricket. Maybe not an annual turnaroud, perhaps every four years.

That’s what already more or less happens in European rugby with the European Nations Cup. Of course, all international sides already have full cap status in rugby. And there’s no automatic promotion, but do well enough for long enough, like Italy, and recognition slowly follows.

I’ve actually been to a European Nations Cup Division 2 match – Slovenia against Switzerland a few years ago. There isn’t much else to do in Ljubljana on a Saturday…

Glad to see Ireland carrying on the good work on the pitch. Looking forward to seeing them tour down here in NZ in the near future, they should give the locals a good run.
