ACCORDING to Guido, “Robert Philpot, director of Progress and editor of their magazine has just been appointed as the new SpAd [special advisor] to Peter Hain, replacing the departed cheating Phil Taylor“. Paxman’s temper tantrum was very funny. The arrogance of media people in London is beaten only by that of politicians. And maybe that **** John Terry

It wasn’t O’Rourke. Nor was it Jeremy Paxman – although that’s who Noel Thompson attributed it to on Hearts & Minds earlier this week.

It was, in fact, HL Mencken.
