“suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice”

Wed 31 January 2007, 1:14am

If you thought Prime Minister Tony Blair looked as if he had other things on his mind as he pushed the provisional starter button for a March election.. you could be right. Guido, gleefully, recalls where he was when he heard the news that Lord Levy had been re-arrested – this time on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice – before being questioned and released on bail. That’s the second arrest on the question of a cover-up rather than the original allegation. Both after Jonathan Powell was reportedly questioned under caution.. All cabinet ministers seem to have been questioned as well at some point, including our very own Secretary of State for Wales, etc.. but he probably has another inquiry on his mind..

Seem to remember Labour promised to be whiter than white. Wonder what happened? Beginning to look suspiciously like a banana republic (or one of charley Haughey’s ilk. Maggie might have refused to turn but at least her hand wasn’t in the till. And it’s hardly damaging to the political system- ministers are merely damaging themselves by their comments and actions. Maybe tony should invite Gerry in to “put some manners” onto the Met!!
