Doughty Street Goes Live!

Wed 11 October 2006, 2:06am

Long trailed by Iain Dale, and subject of a comprehensive blog on Comment is Free, you can get the Doughty Street TV station now online. It’s being billed as Tory TV, and it is true that that is where the money is coming from and where the mainstays hail from. But Tim Montgomery sketches out its wider identity as anti establishment on Channel Four. I will even be putting in an occasional report on matters Irish.

Well I certainly enjoyed?? the Howard interview. If “Politics for Adults” means treating a serious politician like John Howard as an adult then good. The litmus test will be the the adversarial interview. Will they give a serious politician like Gordon Brown space to develop his thoughts?

If I’m given the chance, I can say with some confidence, yes! There is a lot to be said for the discursive interview. I also like Tim’s fundamental idea that the last word should never lie with the host…

    Slugger principles in action!!!
