Conversation, politics and stray insights

All the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order…

Wed 28 June 2006, 3:10pm

Hmmm, the ‘spin’ continues. The Beeb have a leaked copy of the full Hansard of the Committee meeting which by common consensus was to remain private, and was, as Mark Devenport points out, protected even by the Freedom of Information Act as the Hain Assembly is not considered to be a public body.

Quote of the week to Conor Murphy:

Conor Murphy asks that it be put in the record that he has answered all the questions put to him.

Mr McNarry says: “Yes but you have not answered them satisfactorily.”

The Newry and Armagh MP replies that it depends what “satisfactory” means.

Quoting the comedian Eric Morecambe he goes on “I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order.”

That should spare the writers of Folk on the Hill the need to come up with a script this week.

    That reminds me

Is the Hansard of the original Stormont available electronically? Online? CD-Rom? Floppy? Surely there is a requirement that 50 years of the most sublime governance known to man should be made available to an expectant public?

FFS…You’d think by now someone would’ve mended that leak.
