Empey: tidying up loose ends?
Owen Bowcott in the Guardian with the Unionist response:
The Democratic Unionist leader, Ian Paisley, told Channel 4 News: “We don’t know who has done this but the finger must be pointed towards those who were angry at what this man had done.” The Ulster Unionist leader, Sir Reg Empey, said the authorities might never know the perpetrators. “There was an inevitability about this. A lot of people in the republican movement and other organisations will sleep better knowing he is out of the way. Some people will see it as tidying up loose ends.”
The coverage of this on Slugger is turning into little more than a childish propaganda.
It should be fairly obvious to all that those who had most to fear from an exposed spy are not those upon whom he was spying, but those for whom he was spying.
That’s the end of things with potentially a bit more to run in the future.
It’s sad that there are so many who will still seek to distract from very obvious facts.
And it’s sadder still when there’s only one reason they do it.

Lots of us could think of another prominent politician from the nationalist side whose name should replace Empey in that title to give a more accurate reading of events!!!!

Isn’t your view just formed by your political outlook and bias..thus it can be called propoganda too. I’s the North, its always propoganda led….your included, but its great for a stir up.
