Just when you think the Shinners couldn’t sink any lower they surprise you by their depravity, sheesh, this from the party of “we must draw a line under the past, we must move on”, doncha just love ‘em, they send threatening emails to octegenarian widows, it doesn’t take much to understand what one of their leaders allegedly did to another widow; Jean McConville.

Charming, utterly charming, the Shinners were not even allowed to organise in Trinners in my day, by popular vote of the students too, standards appear to have slipped somewhat.

I’d sooner blame the fool who wrote the mail. I mean it was sent round an Irish college. I’ve seen and read a lot worse things when I was in Uni. Blame SF. I’ll blame the parents. Somehow I don’t think that it’s party policy….

by harry flashman on Nov 16, 2005 @ 05:24 PM: * one of their leaders allegedly did to another widow; Jean McConville.* can I ask what being allegedly, without any substantive facts or links, being hinted at here. HF are you hinting at an ‘urban myth’ here as I’d request clarity rather than assume you subscribe to the notion that repeating something enough times and someone will believe it ?

    * one chilling line apparently referred to the IRA’S attempt to assassinate Thatcher in 1983, saying: “We’ll get the bitch yet.” * or apparently referring to the case of Gen Pinochet who was brought to court for his state-sponsered terror in Chile which is compared, from a RM viewpoint, to Maggie’s policies in NI. Should the RM get her (into court for Chilean-style shoot-to-kill policies in NI ) then they’ll point to her support & defense of the Latin Americ dictator when he was arrested in Spain – birds of a feather and all that.

*…the Shinners were not even allowed to organise in Trinners in my day, by popular vote of the students too, standards appear to have slipped somewhat. * …the times they are a-changing. Wasn’t Trinners the place that flew the union flag in dublin – very British rather than Irish. Glad to see that they’ve finally got with the ideals dual nationality.

I have to admit that I saw the title on irishblogs of “Trinity Ogra in trouble over Thatcher campaign?” and thought that mafbe Ógra FF had re-admitted well-known Thatcher fan John McGuirk… sadly, it was not to be.

You’re right Niall, Jean McConville just upped sticks and left her home and ten children of her own volition then chopped off her own fingers before shooting herself in the head and then burying herself in a beach in county Louth.

To suggest that any members of west Belfast IRA who are now high up in the leadership of Sinn Fein had any role in her disappearance is as you rightly say an urban myth.

    Keep taking the tablets mate!

nice muddling of what I’d asked in the gore and tabloid glory of chopping off fingers – there’s a job for you in the red-tops.

I asked what was your basis for implying that a SF leader was involved. Where’s the ‘net-link? Can’t you accept that if you spout something then I might ask for the basis of your claim? Do I have to spell out a request for support of a statement in a form more simple then black and white type? Unless you produce something tangible then I consider your postings irrelevant and consign them to the dustbin of rumour. Too many stereo types and myths exist in the sick counties – now I know where they originate.

Tabs are not my style, possibly yours tho’ from your Trinners days..??
